This Past Weekend

Thanks to Meme & Poppi - Jerry & I had a wonderful weekend of sleeping late and spending time with each other. Friday night we went to the Kevin Fowler concert. Great concert but we disappointed in the people. I really don't see the need to serve alcohol at a Junior Live Stock Show event - isn't suppose to be for the kids? As the concert started the crowd got squished toward the stage as usual - but with the alcohol and the bumping fights started breaking out. Jerry stepped in front of me as a shoving match started right in front of us. You had to be careful when you walked around - people were constantly getting burned by bumping into other peoples cigarettes. Jerry had to move me out of the way once again, because the college kid next to us - who could hardly stand up-looked like he was about to puke. The clothing choices of some of these girls and women were just....one little family walked in front of as we sat in the stands for the opening bands - dad and son were in there finest cowboy attire - then here came mom. I made sure that my husband wasn't looking at this 40+ woman wearing a white see thru blouse and NO BRA!!! Her son must be so proud. We left before the encore - the police were coming to break up another fight. We wanted out of there before those people got into their cars. As we walked to the parking lot - we saw two young son's helping their very drunk father not so much walk but just remain up right. I heard that there is going to be a beer garden at the Live Stock Show as well... Again, Isn't this suppose to be for the kids? The great music was definitely ruined by the atmosphere. We came to conclusion - we are just to old for this kind of fun.
The next night we went to the Harbor Playhouse to see I Hate Hamlet - very funny. We truly had a great week end of quality time together. We were able to get past just talking about the kids and spit up and poopy diapers and yucky noses and, and, and... then just talked like we used to-before kids. Jenny and Keith & Jeremy and Aimee you'll soon understand.

Chicken Pox

Yep - Chicken Pox
Little Jerry has spots. Haddie & I are quarantined in the play room. He has had one of the 2 vaccines but still got them. Dr. Leshin said that 10% of the kids that have had one vaccine can get the Chicken Pox. We are just praying that Haddie doesn't catch them - she is so little - it could be very serious. Poor little guy, at least the bald spots on his head are growing back - and there has been no more hair loss. Those shiny bald patches now have stubble. New Stats: Jerry 28 1/2 lbs and 36 inches, Haddie 14 1/2 lbs and 24 1/2 inches

Little Jerry caught his first fish this weekend on his lightening McQueen fishing rod. Those little piggy perch must not be to picky - they were using smoked dry Polish sausage for bait. Haddie hung out in the hammock.

Radishes? Or green racing stripes.

Just about every thing in the garden is up. Or was up - stomped flat now.

Haddie Has Something To Say!

Haddie was three months on the Tuesday the 13th. Last night after bath time Miss Haddie had quite a bit to tell her mother. I think it was in protest of her brother refusing to get out of the shower during her shower time. We are a busy family and evenings are chaotic to say the least. So, last night we tried a sort of assembly line bath time. The plan was I would get in the shower with little Jerry, bathe him and Dada would bring me Haddie for her shower and then take Lil' Jerry out. Well, he refused to get out and I ended up with both kids in the shower with me.
I never thought that taking a shower by myself would become like a luxury spa day.
Here is a video of her telling me all about it....

Busy Year So Far

This has been a very busy start to the new year.

We made another trip to the park to feed the ducks. Meme & Poppy joined us.

Our garden has spouted!

This Thursday was Muffins with Mom Day at the kids preschool. I joined the rest of the Moms sitting in miniature chairs in Jerry's class that came for breakfast. His teacher Ms. Cathy gave everyone a plate with a mini muffin and 3 donut holes. Jerry quickly ate the muffin & donut holes on MY plate and then started on his. According to his teacher, he is quiet & shy-just so good all the time. What? Apparently he is leading a double life-She can't possible be talking about our kid!
That night we ordered pizza for dinner - Lil' Jerry ate four slices. I got up from the table to get something to drink. When I came back, all of the pepperoni had migrated from my pizza to his. I pointed to my pizza and asked him what had happened. He held his hands up and said "Wheredit go?" and did this fake laugh that his Meme taught him. I didn't get my pepperoni back.
Friday I received a call from the assistant director at the preschool. She was so excited to call and tell me the Jerry had gone to the potty after nap! Whoohoo! A big step in the potty training - sorry the new PC phrase in early childhood is "toilet learning".
Today we went to the Festival of Fairy tales with Aunt Jenni & Taylor and our friends Shawnda, Fayth, Tammy and Gabby. We had breakfast for everyone at our house before the event. Even the grown-ups got into it - we wore tiara's. We had such a good time. Games, crafts and Red Riding Hood had "gagas" All the kids dress up as characters from their favorite fairy tales and books.

Jerry danced the day away with the Princesses.

When he wasn't dancing - he was stalking the dog - McGruff the Crime Dog.

The kids even got to pick out a free book as they left. They had set up a little library area for the children. I left the decision up to him and I am so proud of our son. Books are a big thing in our house-a big part of how we spend our evenings. He browsed through the books like a pro-picking up and setting down several. Then he found a picture book on trains. He brought me the book and yelled "choo-choo!" Big Jerry and I are staying up to watch the news -two of the local stations did close ups of Jerry in is Beast costume. He did stand out - since he did not look like a tulle powder puff. We just saw him on CBS!!!! Taylor too!!!

Typical guy attracted to the diamond plate

Miss Muffet's Tuffet in the Mother Goose relay race. They had to jump over candle sticks, spoon race with Humpty Dumpty and then pop the tuffet.

I can't wait for our little princess to go next year.
